And to finish off my Theatre Weekend Extravaganza…Blue Man Group. Is it “musical theatre”? Not in the traditional sense of course, but it’s definitely theatrical, has heart-pounding music, a healthy dose of performance art (as opposed to the unhealthy dose that is the object of BMG’s satire), lots of humor, and a compelling message (“Put down the cell phone and look at/talk with the person next to you!”). Still love it, after all these years.
