OK, I realize “The Hunger Games” doesn’t fall under musical theatre, which is the basic point of this blog. But, as the pre-release hype builds up steam, it’s nice to see some of the movie’s bit players getting attention – and bit players getting their due IS another basic point of this blog. People magazine has a special Hunger Games issue on the stands, and it includes interviews with “Rue” and other tributes. The same thing happened with “Twilight” and “Harry Potter” – remember the stories about the new werewolves and vampires?

While we’re on the subject, THG is also on the cover of the new Entertainment Weekly. And both magazines have a ton of good stuff on their websites, so check them out if you need a Katniss fix. And don’t forget to celebrate the bit players of Panem, for without all those tributes, the Hunger Games would be a lot less exciting!
